SEPTEMBER 15 + 16, 2017
...as exceptional folk, rock, Americana and bluegrass acts fill our natural amphitheater with gorgeous sound.
2017 Band Lineup
FRIDAY HEADLINER / MAIN STAGE / 9:00pm
A breakout star of outlaw country and rock, Nikki Lane's third album, Highway Queen, has been described as a stunning tour-de-force. Blending potent lyrics, unbridled blues guitars and vintage Sixties country-pop swagger, Lane’s music will resonate as easily with Lana Del Rey and Jenny Lewis fans as those of Neil Young and Tom Petty. Lane's bluesy, sandpaper voice beneath a ten-gallon hat has earned glowing reviews from NPR, the Guardian and Rolling Stone.
Buffalo Wabs and Price
FRIDAY, MAIN STAGE
Buffalo Wabs & the Price Hill Hustle are a Cincinnati-based, four-piece Americana & folk band blending the traditions of heroes like Woody Guthrie and Mississippi John Hurt with contemporary flair. Their high energy and passion for the music follows them to every performance and has earned them countless fans and local awards.
FRIDAY, SIDE STAGE
An easily confused and very shy individual, Charlie Parr has been traveling around singing his songs ever since leaving Austin, Minnesota in the 1980s. The experience changed his life, made him more or less unemployable, and brings us to now: 13 recordings, 250+ shows a year, 200,000 miles in a broken-in Kia, and a nasty fear of heights. He described his sound as "Resonator-fueled folk songs from Duluth, Minnesota."
Whiskey Bent Valley Boys
FRIDAY, MAIN STAGE
The Whiskey Bent Valley Boys' sound will take you through the hills of Kentucky, bearing all the centuries-old stories, traditions and liquor those hills contain. The band's old-time sound delivers an intensity that would knock the socks rightoff their forefathers' feet.
Holy Ghost Tent Revival
SaturDAY HEADLINER / main STAGE / 8:30pM
Holy Ghost Tent Revival an American horn-driven rock and roll band with blues and folk leanings. HGTR is marrying genres in a way that NPR describes as that of a “soul-rock horn band that recalls 60s and 70s classic-rock influences such as The Band and The Flying Burrito Brothers…”. Paste Magazine described their style as "soul-inspired rock that maintains a rootsy sound, brightened by warm swells of horns and rich harmonies.” This new sound has inspired amazing acts like Lake Street Dive, Dr. Dog, Shovels and Rope, and Robert Randolph & the Family Band to share their stage and in turn has elevated Holy Ghost Tent Revival to a nationally touring act of the highest caliber.
Honey and Houston
SaturDAY, MAIN STAGE
Honey & Houston hail from Northern Kentucky—fueled by Lauren Houston and Heather Turner and accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Mark Cretcher and drummer Daniel Peterson, the band is a fixture on the Cincinnati scene, blending diverse influences with sweet melodies and goosebump-inducing harmonies.
SaturDAY, side STAGE
Honeysuckle is a progressive folk act blending older influences with traditional instrumentation and modern effects. Band members Holly McGarry, Benjamin Burns and Chris Bloniarz can be found frequently performing in the Boston area alongside bands like Boy & Bear, Shook Twins, John Craigie and Grey Season among others. In 2015, Honeysuckle performed at Newport Folk Festival, was chosen Converse Rubber Tracks artist of the year and was nominated for multiple Boston Music Awards. In 2016, the band's tour included performances on the Pepsi Stage at Lollapalooza and CMJ in New York City.
SaturDAY, main STAGE
The Wayfarers have been featured on the national PBS television series "Song of the Mountains", toured much of the Midwest and Southern Appalachians, released 4 studio albums, and have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in bluegrass & country music; including Ralph Stanley, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart, Connie Smith, Dailey & Vincent, Lonesome River Band, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Rhonda Vincent, Marty Raybon, Jerry Douglas, and many many more.
SATURDAY, SIDE STAGE
The music of Nashville troubadour Woody Pines comes from the streets—it was on the streets as a professional busker where Woody first cut his teeth. Pines' music draws liberally from the lost back alley anthems and scratchy old 78s of American roots music, whether country blues, jugband, hokum, or hillbilly—heavy rollicking street performances are central to Woody's intensely catchy rhythms, jumpy lyrics and delirious sense of fun.
Fox Valley Harvest
saturDAY, MAIN STAGE
Fox Valley Harvest and its members have played across the country at festivals like Farm Aid and Gentlemen of the Road Stopover Tour, alongside notable acts including Mumford and Sons, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Bob Dylan and Robert Plant. Their most recent album was produced by Nashville legend Pat Holt, and features artists Kenzie Wetz (fiddle) and Wayne Killius (drums) from the ABC show "Nashville."
